James R. Long retired as Executive Vice-President of Nortel Networks and President of Nortel Enterprise Networks. He led an integrated global company of more than 35,000 employees. While at Nortel he was also President of Nortel Asia/Pacific and President and CEO of Nortel World Trade, a $4 billion subsidiary that encompassed all of Nortel’s operations outside of North America.
He joined Nortel in 1991 after spending 25 years in a number of executive positions with IBM Corp. These included a variety of sales and marketing positions, head of IBM’s customer education business, assistant to two Chief Executives, and the head of marketing for IBM’s seventeen country companies in Asia and the Pacific Rim.
In conjunction with these responsibilities he resided overseas for more than 10 years in London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
He is a retired member of the Boards of Directors of NCR Corp (NCR)., Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (CY), 3COM Corp., Symon Communications, and the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii’s largest paid tourist attraction. In his board capacities he has served as chairman of audit, compensation and nominating and governance committees. He is classified with the SEC as a “financial expert”.
Mr. Long holds a BS degree in Industrial Management from San Jose State University. He currently serves as member of the National Advisory Council at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
Stan is a partner in Apple Mountain, LLC. He is an innovator in the airport concessions industry with over 30 years of experience in this venue. As a past Vice President of Development/Operations at HMS Host he initiated a branded concept strategy that resulted in the transformation of airport/travel venue foodservice operations worldwide. He has worked with over 100 national, regional and local brands (including Starbucks, Chili’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Cinnabon, California Pizza Kitchen and The Cheesecake Factory) to develop and implement these concepts in non-traditional venues such as airports, travel plazas and malls.
During his tenure with Host Stan provided the direction and leadership for the successful award, takeover and transition of multiple airports, stadiums and arenas generating sales in excess of $800MM annually. Prior to his tenure with Host Marriott Stan held executive level positions with PepsiCo and City Investing Company.
Stan is a graduate of the Marriott Executive Development Program at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. He holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and a MBA from Anna Maria College.
Josh Harrison is a partner in Apple Mountain, LLC. Prior to his current roll, Josh co-founded Blue Mountain Restaurant Services, a Burger King franchisee. In 2005, the company acquired five underperforming Burger King restaurants in the Salt Lake City area. After successfully returning the stores to profitability, he turned his focus to growing Blue Mountain’s footprint and the Burger King brand by overseeing the development of new stores in Draper [2009], and Lehi in [2011].
Prior to co-founding Blue Mountain Restaurant Services, Josh held high-tech marketing positions with both 3Com Corporation and Nortel Networks. In addition, he spent five years in Buenos Aires as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State.
Josh earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his MBA from the University of Virginia.
Tom Long is a partner in Apple Mountain, LLC, Prior to his current role, Tom co-founded Blue Mountain Restaurant Services, a Burger King franchisee. In that role, he was responsible for managing Blue Mountain’s operations. By focusing on both operational excellence and providing an exceptional experience for guests, he executed a key component of Blue Mountain’s turnaround strategy and brought the stores back to Burger King’s operational standards.
Tom’s career includes 18 years of restaurant operations experience. He has worked in a variety of roles including busboy, waiter, bartender, line cook, and kitchen manager with restaurants such as Ruby Tuesdays, Penny Lane Pub, and 4th Street Cafe in Richmond, Virginia, and Slade’s American Grill in Tyson’s Corner.
Tom studied psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned his Associate’s degree in recording arts from Full Sail University.
David Long is a partner in Apple Mountain, LLC, the family-owned company and exclusive Utah franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Since acquiring the franchise, David and his partners have grown Apple Mountain into one of the brand’s top-performing groups nationwide, consistently leading in sales, guest traffic, and customer satisfaction.
At Apple Mountain, David leads the company’s marketing and information technology functions and oversees its expanding off-premise business—including partnerships with DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats. His focus on innovation, guest engagement, and operational excellence has helped Apple Mountain thrive in a rapidly changing restaurant landscape.
David began his career in sales and marketing with Xerox, Nortel Networks, Cisco Systems. As an Associate with Russell Reynolds, he recruited senior-level executives for Fortune 500 clients in the high-tech and consumer brand sectors. He joined Blue Mountain Restaurant Services in 2012—laying the foundation for his move into restaurant ownership and leadership at Apple Mountain.
He holds a B.S. in Economics (minor in English) from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, David now calls Utah home. When he isn’t focused on operations and growth at Apple Mountain, you’ll find him skiing the Wasatch, moonlighting as the Action Photographer at Deer Valley Ski Resort, cheering on BYU, and spoiling his toy Australian Shepherd, KAOS.
